A Complete Box Build Capability Map

A Box Build is the point where approved mechanical parts, PCBAs, harnesses, purchased items, software and delivery requirements become one finished unit. We coordinate the interfaces between those inputs, define the assembly and verification scope, and deliver the agreed records with the build.

Core Integration

The core work is not a list of unrelated manufacturing processes. It is the controlled installation of approved parts into a system whose fit, connection, access and service requirements have been reviewed together.

DFM, Drawing & BOM Review

Review your drawings and BOM for buildability before quoting, with a checklist that locks down missing specifications.

Enclosure Integration

Coordinate the mechanical platform, mounting points, panels and interfaces around the finished unit.

PCBA Integration

Mount approved boards and control fit, access, grounding, thermal interfaces and system connections.

Cable Harness Integration

Route and retain approved internal harnesses with defined labels, strain relief and connector access.

Conformal Coating & Potting

Apply customer-approved conformal coating and potting to protect electronics, masked and inspected within the finished unit.

System Testing and Configuration

Verification starts from the customer's approved procedure, limits and acceptance authority. Board-level inspection is not presented as the final product test.

Functional Testing

Run project-defined power-up, I/O and functional checks against approved limits.

Labeling, Serialization and Packaging

Final delivery requirements are planned before assembly. We can apply approved product labels, associate serial identity with agreed configuration and test data, verify accessories and manuals, and prepare packaging to the project specification.

NPI, Pilot and Low-Volume Production

NPI and pilot builds

Use the first controlled builds to validate material status, assembly sequence, interfaces, test readiness, work instructions and release criteria.

Low-volume, high-mix builds

Manage variants through approved matrices, travelers, unit identity and revision-controlled instructions rather than informal operator knowledge.

Quality Records Across the Build

Incoming status, first-unit findings, in-process checks, functional results, serial data, deviations and change implementation can be recorded according to the agreed project scope. The required depth is defined before production.

Define the Scope Before Quotation

Identify which items are customer-supplied, which inputs we coordinate, which tests and records are required, and what condition the finished unit must be in at handover. Start with the files you have, then use our Box Build RFQ checklist and delivery process to locate gaps.
